The men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik became Malaysia’s heroes when they carved out this historic moment.
The men’s doubles, ranked sixth in the world, defeated a pair from Indonesia, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan.
Even though he succeeded in making extraordinary achievements, Soh Wooi Yik remained humble and admitted that his efforts were inspired by Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan.
The 24-year-old Malaysian badminton player also recalled the incident at the 2019 All England when he lost against Ahsan/Hendra.
The defeat at that time made Soh Wooi Yik then try to approach The Daddies, nicknamed Ahsan / Hendra, to ask for advice to be better.
According to Soh Wooi Yik’s statement, The StarAhsan/Hendra advised him to keep working hard and don’t forget to stay humble.
