FC Bayern: How coach Julian Nagelsmann has completely changed – FC BAYERN MUNICH

His premiere season with the German championship went well, but by no means brilliantly. In a detailed analysis, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann drew the conclusions for his day-to-day work. And fundamentally changed his work.

The trainer wants to change the system less often and no longer want to adapt it to the opponent so much. So far, the Munich team has started every game with the basic 4-2-2-2 formation. Nagelsmann now holds shortened opponent analyzes before games, discussing only five to eight scenes instead of the previous 13 to 15.

He is concerned with his own strength and less with possible dangers emanating from the opponent. More “Mia-san-mia”, less “Mia-look-at-the-others”!

The training work was also put to the test. Nagelsmann is known in the team for conveying sometimes very complicated content in a short time. Some stars were overwhelmed with that. Mainly because new forms of exercise were always being rehearsed. Nagelsmann now relies more often on proven, albeit complex forms of training. That goes for the players.

However, he is now in demand as a moderator: Nagelsmann is spoiled for choice, especially on the offensive. Two top stars were already out on Saturday against Mönchengladbach in Serge Gnabry (27) and Jamal Musiala (19). While Musiala was more of a newcomer last season and could easily be “banished” to the bench, the multiple “player of the game” (three goals in three league games) is now vehemently pushing into the starting eleven. But established stars like Thomas Müller (32), Kingsley Coman (26), Sané or even more so Mané want to be there.

“It’s not that easy to keep the mood positive,” says Nagelsmann and, with a view to time-outs for top stars, emphasizes: “I’ll try to get the players used to the fact that this is normal.”

A good prerequisite is: In the team there is no longer an ego that outshines everything. On the other hand, there are only top players. For the triple plan, a sense of unity must arise in which no player gives up: It is up to Nagelsmann and his team to prevent this through open, direct communication. The coach is well aware of this: He not only introduced voluntary, regular team evenings after home games. On Sunday, the players and coaching staff celebrated a summer festival with families with currywurst, a bouncy castle and dead-end throwing. It was a last breath before the English weeks begin: A starting shot for Bayern’s triple attack!
