‘Anderlecht put Benteke on the road to transfer’

The summer transfer window has so far produced a lot of fireworks, but the end of all that transfer spectacle is far from in sight. Many players at home and abroad want/need to change clubs before the transfer deadline. And also several Red Devils.

Charles De Ketelaere, for example, is explicitly linked to AC Milan. Youri Tielemans would then aspire to one step higher, while Michy Batshuayi is looking for a new employer for the umpteenth time. Dries Mertens and Adnan Januzaj are currently looking for a club as a transfer-free player. And now it appears that Christian Benteke can also change teams.

The bony striker is currently still defending the colors of Crystal Palace, where he still has a contract until mid-2023. But according to various English media, Benteke may look for another challenge. After all, to further strengthen itself, Palace would need additional resources and salary budget. The 31-year-old striker is one of the players who have to take care of that. There are no concrete clubs for the time being, but the striker may remain active in the Premier League.

And RSC Anderlecht could have a part in that. According to The Sun Benteke is on the wish list at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Wolves temporarily said goodbye to Fabio Silva this week, who was kept at Anderlecht on a rental basis. To absorb the departure of the Portuguese, the club would like to attract a new center attacker and the sights would therefore be on Benteke. So far there has been no concrete, but Wolves would study his file closely.
