Suddenly football becomes completely unimportant…
A tumor was discovered in the testicles of Hertha star Marco Richter (23) during a urological examination. As the capital city club announced, the winger has to be operated on. A final diagnosis is still pending.
Shock diagnosis for the Hertha star! Further investigations are now to follow. One thing is clear: the Berliner will be out for an indefinite period of time.
Hertha’s sports director Fredi Bobic (50) commented on the diagnosis: “Marco gets every conceivable support from us in this situation. We hope that he will return to our circle as soon as possible.”
It was only in May that Timo Baumgartl (26) from city rival Union Berlin made it public that he had also found a tumor in his scrotum. In the defense attorney’s case, it was cancer. Most recently, Baumgartl underwent chemotherapy and, by his own admission, went running again.
There were also recovery wishes from the Köpenickers to Richter. The Irons account commented on Twitter: “Stay strong, Marco! A lot of strength for the following examinations – come back quickly.”
Now all football fans hope that the two Berlin pros will get well again as soon as possible!
