Matías Lescano joins the basketball section of Stadium Casablanca

The Stadium Casablanca announced this Thursday that the former CAI Zaragoza forward Matias Lescano he joins the basketball section of the club. The Argentine, a legend of Aragonese and Argentine basketball, will be the new coach of the club’s male Cadet A. After a long career of 20 years as a professional player between Argentina and Spain, playing for mythical teams such as Atenas de Córdoba, Estudiantes de Bahía Blanca, San Martín de Corrientes or CAI Zaragoza.

He retired from professional basketball in 2018, but he always wanted to stay close to his passion, which is why he trained to obtain the title of coach, and in the last four years in CB Cuarte he has directed the men’s teams of benajmín, alevín and cadet, being Jorge Grasa’s assistant for two years in the male junior. This last year he has alternated the cadet of CB Cuarte with the First female Aragonese of the CD. Jose Luis Abos.

“I think I had completed a cycle in CB Cuarte and it comes together with my desire for new challenges, so what better place than Stadium for this. I come to one of the best training clubs that has been doing things very well for a couple of years and I think that this last season has taken a very big step forward. I join a great staff from whom I will surely learn many things. I am very excited and eager to start”, assures Lescano. The former player who is clear about what he can contribute to his new club: “Everything I learned in my career in terms of sports and as a person. The ball is the means by which we learn many values that serve us for the rest of our lives, my commitment, responsibility and giving myself 100% as I have always done and that is what I am going to demand of the boys”.
