Hearts on World Lights Day | Koudum.nl

Parents who have lost a child and all who feel connected to them can hang a small heart on a large wooden heart at Dorpshuis De Klink in Koudum on Sunday 12 December. Normally worldwide, lights are lit on the second Sunday in December. Due to the corona measures, just like last year, this cannot take place because of the corona time. For that reason, World Lights Day Súdwesthoeke has opted for a shape with hearts, which generated so many warm reactions and participation in the past year.

At De Klink village hall in Koudum on Sunday 12 December there will be a large wooden heart, with the word ‘Wereldlichtjesdag’ on it. A name can be written on the small heart that can be placed on it or, for example, a personal text or image. The organizers of World Lights Day Súdwesthoeke: “A heart full of hearts tells about lack, but also about solidarity. In addition, everyone can light a candle that evening.”
