Club refuels against helpless Ostend confidence for PSG: Lang excels with brilliant goal, newcomer Sowah shows up | Matchday 7 Jupiler Pro League

Jupiler Pro LeagueThe requested response. Club Brugge swirled towards the victory tonight against a ten-man KV Oostende: 3-0. Noa Lang was the big man with two goals, especially his first was of brilliant beauty. Club jumps back to the lead for the time being and fuels confidence for the clash with PSG.

Club had to put things right for a full Jan Breydel, two weeks after the 6-1 punishment in Ghent. The visiting fans were also present for the first time. They saw that Philippe Clement immediately dropped newcomers Hendry and Sowah into the team. Fortès got his first base place at KVO, and it would not go unnoticed.

Club immediately took control of the match, under the impulse of, among other things, a busy Sowah. He created the first threat with two dangerous crosses from his golden left foot. Hubert tapped a deviated ball into a corner, Vanaken was unable to extend with enough power and direction. KVO was physically not the lesser of Club, but still had to undergo the game. The long shots from – again – Sowah and Balanta didn’t end up insanely wide.

And so a goal was inevitable. You guessed it, Sowah, unpacked with a delicious crosspass towards Lang. The Dutchman ensured Club’s deserved lead with an even smarter start-up and ditto finish. Great goal. Ostend tried, but only once was really dangerous for the break. Mignolet had to make a great save on a kick in Gueye’s club. Club frolicked on and was helped a bit by debutant Fortès. The defender took two stupid yellow cards in the same number of minutes.

A safe conduct towards Bruges three-pointer, because even after the break KVO could not put anything in the way of the national champion. After barely a minute, Vanaken’s escape shot flew centimeters over the crossbar. His second attempt was worth it. Vanaken, completely free at the far post, took a cross from Mata full on the shoe. Hubert had no story to tell: 2-0, the books could go all the way to Jan Breydel.

Club wanted to spoil the full house. It did, it forced chance after chance, but it lacked one thing: efficiency. The list of misses became very long throughout the second half. De Ketelaere’s cross shot rolled past, Vormer and CDK did not extend well enough, Sowah shot wide. So Noa Lang thought it was time to get involved again. The Dutchman quietly tapped in number three after good preparatory work by De Ketelaere and Vanaken. The crowning glory. Rits also encountered Hubert five minutes before the end.

Club will (for the time being) take over the lead again in the Jupiler Pro League, although Union can take over again on Sunday if they win in Genk. Either way, blue and black are fueling confidence for Wednesday’s clash with the star ensemble of PSG. Although Club will probably get a little more resistance from Messi and co.
