Hamilton lashes out at ‘cowardly’ Hungarian government

Formula 1 will visit Hungary this weekend for the Grand Prix at the Hungaroring. Lewis Hamilton thinks Hungary is a beautiful country, but took to social media to address the Hungarian government and the people of the LGBTQ community about the country’s anti-gay law.

“To everyone in this beautiful Hungary. In the run-up to this weekend’s Grand Prix, I would like to express my support for the people affected by the anti-LGBTQ law in the country. It is unacceptable, cowardly and misleading of the people who are in power to propose such a law. Everyone deserves the freedom to be who they are, who they love and what they identify with.”

“I therefore call on the people of Hungary to stand up for the rights of the LGBTQ community in the upcoming referendum, they need our support now more than ever. Please show your love for the people around you, because love always wins. I send you my positivity, #lgbtq.”
