Carl Nassib He’s probably not a big name in the NFL but he’s been a solid player his entire career. It begins its sixth season and its second in with the Las Vegas Raiders. Suddenly not a superstar, but officially he has become part of history in the NFL.
On Monday, Nassib announced on his Instagram account that he came out as gay.
This was what he said:
Hello people. I am at my home in West Chester, Pennsylvania. I want to take this moment to tell you that I am gay. I’ve wanted to do this for a while but now I feel comfortable enough to vent. I have the best life, the best family, friends and job that anyone can have.
I am a private person so I want you to know that I am not doing this for attention. I think representation and visibility are important things. I hope that one day, videos like this and the whole process of having to leave will not be necessary, but up to that point I will do my best to cultivate the culture that is accepting and shows compassion and I will do so by donating $ 100,000 to the Trevor Project. They are an amazing organization and they are the suicide prevention service for LGBTQ youth in America.
This is great news from Nassib as there was never a gay gamer in the game. NFL. Obviously, Michael Sam It was news a year ago when it tried to be, but it did not come true. Now Nassib can be that representative.
