Suspect on Trial for Burglary at Ada Hegerberg’s Home

A suspect in the burglary of Ada Hegerberg’s residence is scheduled to appear in court in Lyon this Thursday, November 5. The legal proceedings follow an investigation into a break-in at the home of the Olympique Lyonnais forward, which occurred during the night of May 21 to May 22, according to reports.

The incident took place on the eve of the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Oslo, where Hegerberg was set to compete with her team. Investigators from the Givors research brigade were assigned to the case by the Lyon public prosecutor’s office, working to identify those responsible for the theft of personal property from the Norwegian international’s home.

DNA Evidence Led to Grenoble Arrest

Law enforcement officials identified a suspect through a DNA profile recovered from the scene of the crime.

Following his arrest, the man was held in police custody for two days before being presented to the Lyon judicial court. He was initially slated for an immediate appearance trial; however, the proceedings were postponed after the defendant requested additional time to prepare his legal defense. The court set the new trial date for November 5.

Context of Professional Athlete Security

The burglary of Hegerberg’s home is part of a series of incidents involving professional athletes in the Lyon area over recent years.

Other prominent members of the Olympique Lyonnais organization have faced similar security breaches recently. In August 2025, former teammate Eugénie Le Sommer was the victim of a residential burglary. Former OL forward Georges Mikautadze was subjected to an armed robbery in 2024. Authorities have not established any formal link between the burglary involving Hegerberg and these other cases.

Questions Regarding Potential Accomplices

While the judicial process is moving forward against the suspect apprehended in Grenoble, investigators continue to work on the case. According to reports, the ongoing investigation aims to determine if the defendant acted with others during the break-in. Officials have not yet confirmed the full scope of the suspect’s involvement or whether other individuals were present at the residence during the night of the incident.
