Roh Si-hwan of the Hanwha Eagles officially entered the posting process at the start of November 2026 to negotiate with all 30 Major League Baseball clubs.
The Korea Baseball Organization formally requested the posting clearance from the MLB commissioner’s office on October 31 after receiving a request from Hanwha.
The negotiating window closes on December 2 at 5:00 p.m. US Eastern Time, which falls on December 3 at 7:00 a.m. Korean Standard Time.
If a Major League Baseball club successfully signs Roh before the deadline, that team will pay an independent posting fee directly to the Hanwha Eagles under the current player contract agreement between the KBO and MLB.
Should the negotiating window shut without an agreement, Roh remains under contract with Hanwha for the upcoming season.
American media outlets describe Roh’s primary asset as his raw power as a right-handed hitter.
One major outlet noted that the New York Yankees could view Roh as a viable option if the club pursues a young third baseman who can improve.
Another report identified Roh among international players drawing attention this offseason, listing the Miami Marlins, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Cincinnati Reds as prospective landing spots drawn to his KBO production.
Scouts and analysts in the United States have raised questions regarding Roh’s defensive capabilities and his ability to make consistent contact against elite MLB pitching.
Observers point out that translating power numbers produced in the KBO directly to the major leagues remains a distinct challenge for any incoming infielder.
Evaluators continue to weigh his offensive upside against the defensive adjustments required at the hot corner in North America.
