River Plate Evaluates Futures of Players Currently on Loan

As the season draws to a close, Club Atlético River Plate is preparing for the upcoming transfer window by evaluating the futures of several players currently out on loan, La Página Millonaria reported.

The club previously sent out numerous young talents and fringe players to gain professional experience and regular playing time elsewhere. With various agreements nearing expiration or containing purchase options, several squad members must soon report back to Núñez.

Matías Galarza Fonda joined Inter Miami on a loan deal running through December, featuring a $3 million purchase option for 50% of his pass that becomes mandatory if he appears in 66% of matches, according to La Página Millonaria. Galarza Fonda has already played 10 matches and secured a title in MLS alongside Lionel Messi.

Giuliano Galoppo joined Atlanta United on a one-year loan without a fee. The MLS side holds a $6 million purchase option on the midfielder, who must return to River Plate in mid-2027 if the clause is not exercised.

Kevin Castaño joined Atlético Mineiro on loan through mid-2027 with a purchase option included. The Colombian midfielder has made 18 appearances in Brazil and prepares to face Boca Juniors in the Copa Sudamericana final.

Cristian Leonel Jaime is performing strongly at Peñarol on a loan without a fee or purchase option running until mid-2027. While a recall clause existed, River Plate cannot activate it in December because the winger met two specific performance targets in Uruguay.

David Martínez moved to Defensa y Justicia on a one-year loan in January without a fee, featuring a $900,000 purchase option for 50% of his rights. Having established himself as a regular starter in Florencio Varela, the defender is expected to return to River Plate when the agreement concludes at the end of the year.

Conan Ledesma returned to Rosario Central in search of regular minutes, recording 15 clean sheets across 38 matches ahead of the Clausura playoffs. His loan runs until the end of the year and includes an $1.8 million purchase option for 60% of his pass that could become obligatory.

Ian Subiabre is on loan at Tigre until July 2027 with a provision allowing a six-month extension, alongside a purchase option of approximately $5 million for 70% of his rights. Santiago Lencina joined Spanish Segunda División side Burgos on a loan valid until June 30, 2027, with a 50% purchase option and a River Plate buyback clause.

Tiago Serrago plays for Tigre on a loan running through December 31, 2026, which features a $1.6 million purchase option for half his economic rights after making 27 appearances and scoring twice. Bautista Dadín is on an 18-month loan at Aldosivi without a purchase option, subject to recall clauses in every transfer window.

Tomás Nasif joined Platense to play in the Copa Libertadores but suffered a ligament rupture after 16 appearances and three goals, leaving him with months of recovery on a loan lasting until December. Ulises Giménez moved to Sarmiento on loan until mid-2027 without a purchase option, with River Plate holding a December recall clause following his recovery from a ligament injury.
