Paris Saint-Germain forward Ferran Torres has gone eight consecutive matches without scoring across all competitions, a drought highlighted by Foot01 following a difficult performance against Troyes at the Parc des Princes.
The Spanish international has not found the back of the net since September 20, when he scored during the league match against Olympique de Marseille. Having netted seven goals in the early stages of the campaign, his form has dipped significantly since that fixture.
Missed Chances Against Troyes
During the fixture against Troyes, Torres struggled to convert his opportunities. According to L’Équipe, the forward missed three one-on-one situations in the 38th, 45th, and 67th minutes, alongside an attempt off target just before halftime. The publication awarded him a match rating of 3/10, the lowest among the Paris Saint-Germain squad for that encounter.

Despite the ongoing scoreless run, head coach Luis Enrique defended his player’s overall involvement. Speaking after the narrow win over Troyes, the manager emphasized that creating chances remains the primary requirement for his attackers.
In the start of the season, everyone was concerned for Mika Godts, not for Ferran, and now it’s the reverse,
Luis Enrique said. Do not worry for any player of Paris-Saint-Germain. What is a condition sine qua non for me is that the attackers continue to have big chances.
Shifting Position in the Squad Hierarchy
Torres has seen his playing time affected in high-profile fixtures. Sport.fr noted that during the UEFA Champions League match against Villarreal, where Paris Saint-Germain secured a 6-0 victory, Luis Enrique opted to start young prospects Senny Mayulu and Maghnes Akliouche. Torres entered the pitch only after the hour mark with the result already heavily in favor of the French side.

Spanish media reports indicated that Torres might evaluate his situation when the winter transfer window opens, with club management unlikely to block a departure should the player remain dissatisfied with his role.
The Requirement for Confidence
Raul Muñoz, a former youth coach of Torres, spoke to L’Équipe regarding the forward’s reliance on managerial support.
As a kid, he told me he needed the coach’s confidence,
Muñoz stated. He needs to be surrounded and, by coming to Paris, I think he was looking for someone who would take him under his wing.
With injuries sidelining Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Paris Saint-Germain relies on an upturn in form from Torres as the club prepares for its upcoming fixtures.
