Paris Saint-Germain is actively evaluating potential reinforcements for the upcoming January 2027 transfer window as forward Ferran Torres endures an extended scoring drought in Ligue 1 and European competition, Foot01 reported.
Ferran Torres has signed seven goals during his first six matches wearing the PSG jersey. Torres initially enjoyed an explosive start with the club, netting a brace against Rennes in his Ligue 1 debut before scoring a hat-trick against Slovan Bratislava in the UEFA Champions League. For the scorer of Spain’s winning goal in the World Cup final, there could be no better way to silence critics. He then added a crucial goal in a 2-1 victory over Marseille during the Classique on September 20, 2026. However, if the former Barça forward has also scored two more goals in Ligue 1, it has been a total dry spell since September 20 and his goal in Marseille.
Luis Campos Prepares Winter Window Moves
According to reports from journalist Javier Parra Pena of Fichajes cited by Foot01, sporting advisor Luis Campos and the club’s technical staff are examining scouting reports on mobile forwards capable of contributing immediately during the latter stages of the Champions League. The potential pursuit of a new attacker indicates that club leadership believes the squad requires additional depth, particularly with Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia sidelined following recent knee surgery.
Luis Enrique ideally seeks a versatile player comfortable operating on the flanks as well as through the central striker position. Le Paris Saint-Germain s’étant imposé largement (6-0) à Villarreal en Ligue des champions, l’entraîneur a préféré aligner le jeune Senny Mayulu tandis que l’attaquant espagnol est entré en jeu après l’heure de jeu.
The Quest for Form and Coaching Confidence
Despite the dip in production, Luis Enrique retains confidence in his compatriot. Raul Muñoz, a former youth coach of Torres, explained to L’Équipe in November 2026 that the forward places immense value on psychological backing from his managers, stating that Torres seeks a supportive environment to reach his full potential. A confidence that could play a decisive role in his sporting fulfillment at PSG. Representatives close to the player also emphasized to L’Équipe that the underlying scoring opportunities remain present, expressing reassurance that normal efficiency will return. The situation recalls that of Bradley Barcola, who has also seen his status evolve within the squad.
With the winter market opening in January 2027 approaching, Torres faces a critical two-month window to reestablish his status in Paris and halt the speculation surrounding potential roster adjustments.
PSG Travels to Face Le Havre on Friday
PSG travels this Friday evening to Le Havre, the bottom side in Ligue 1, for the 9th matchday. This fixture presents an opportunity for Ferran Torres to rediscover the path to the net, especially since Ousmane Dembélé will be absent.
