NFL Star Joe Mixon Flew on Same Florida Crash Jet Last Month

In a West Palm Beach residential neighborhood on Sunday, November 3, 2026, a private Learjet 60 crashed into a mobile home park in a massive fireball, killing all nine people on board.

The tragedy struck shortly before 1:00 p.m. local time as the aircraft attempted to circumvent severe weather during a flight from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas. According to emergency communications recorded by the Associated Press and Reuters, the cockpit crew radioed weather concerns before one of their final transmissions confirmed the fatal trajectory: “We’re going to crash into the ground.” The crash site is located near Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

Seven Passengers and Two Crew Members Board the Flight

The aircraft carried seven passengers alongside a two-person flight crew. The passenger manifest included technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, 44, his wife Helen, and their two children, aged four and two. Two friends, a nanny, 55-year-old pilot Jeff G., and 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalie G. completed the roster.

Joe Mixon’s Close Call on the Learjet

When news of the disaster reached Joe Mixon, the 30-year-old two-time Pro Bowler realized he had boarded that exact Learjet 60 with the exact same flight crew just one month prior. Mixon took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice his shock over the incident.

“Deeply shaken by the tragic plane crash yesterday in Florida and the loss of all nine lives,” Mixon wrote. “I flew on this exact plane just last month—with the exact same two pilots.”

Mixon praised the crew’s professionalism, adding that remembering the young co-pilot’s aspirations made the loss even more profound. “They were incredible pros and truly wonderful people. Hearing the young woman’s story and learning about the promising future she had ahead makes it only more heartbreaking that her life was cut so short,” the running back posted alongside a broken heart emoji.

Uncertain NFL Future for the Free Agent

The close call coincides with a difficult professional period for Mixon. Over nine seasons in the NFL, Mixon earned approximately $55 million. Most recently, he was under contract with the Houston Texans, but he missed the entire last season due to a foot injury and was released in March of this year.

An attempt to join the Seattle Seahawks in October collapsed when Mixon failed his physical examination due to a degenerative foot condition, leaving the running back facing a potential end to his career.
