Luca Ravaioli broke his own club record with a score of 865 to win the compound senior men’s

Luca Ravaioli broke his own club record with a score of 865 to win the compound senior men’s division as Arcieri Bizantini Ravenna dominated the 22nd edition of the 900 Round d’estate at the Cotignola shooting range, RavennaToday reported. The victory improved Ravaioli’s previous record by four points and headlined a day in which the Ravenna club fielded 16 athletes, including seven making their competitive debuts.

The traditional summer tournament, organized by the Muzio Attendolo Sforza society, drew interregional competitors who shot three distances — 60, 50 and 40 meters — for a total of 90 arrows on 122-centimeter targets, with a maximum possible score of 900 points. As one of the final outdoor events of the summer season, the competition signals the coming transition to indoor archery, which resumes in early October after the Italian Target Championships in Bisceglie close the outdoor calendar at the end of September.

Ravaioli and Padovani Lead Individual Gold Medals

Ravaioli’s 865 in the compound division stood as the highest individual score of the day among the club’s medalists. Angela Padovani also took gold in the barebow master women’s category with 649 points, while Olympic athlete Guendalina Sartori of CS Aereonautica Militare won the senior women’s podium with 807.

Eleonora Tozzola claimed the top step in the Olympic bow junior women’s division with 550 points in her debut competition. Sofia Fuschini took silver in the Olympic bow cadet women’s category with 673, improving her club record by 262 points compared with last year’s mark. Michele Tozzola finished third in the Olympic bow cadet men’s division with 589, setting a new club record, while Niccolò Corsini placed fourth with 569. Maria Chiara Rotondi, another debutant, earned bronze in the Olympic bow senior women’s category with 390 points.

Four Team Podiums Complete the Sweep

The depth of the Ravenna squad translated into four team podiums. The senior women’s Olympic team of Maria Chiara Rotondi, Samanta Mazzotti and Marina Massaroli — all debutants — took first place, setting a new club record. The senior men’s Olympic team of Alessandro Farinella, Giovanni Putzu and Riccardo Canali also won gold, while the master men’s Olympic team of Luca Cicognani, Simone Pizzi and Franco Travaglini claimed first as well, establishing another club record.

A fourth team, comprising Farinella, Cicognani and Pizzi, finished third overall behind Arcieri Cesena and Arcieri del Titano.

Club Records Fall Across Divisions

Beyond Ravaioli’s four-point improvement and Fuschini’s 262-point leap, the tournament produced new club records for Michele Tozzola in the cadet men’s Olympic category, Eleonora Tozzola in the junior women’s Olympic division, and the senior women’s and master men’s teams. The results capped a strong outdoor campaign for the Ravenna club ahead of the national championships.

Indoor Season Approaches After Bisceglie

The 900 Round d’estate traditionally marks the end of the outdoor season in Italy. Archers now turn to the Italian Target Championships scheduled for late September in Bisceglie, which will close the outdoor calendar before the indoor season begins in the first days of October. Ravenna’s contingent also included officials, with Denis Costantini making his judging debut alongside Leonardo Giannini.
