Lee Dong-gook expresses concern over daughter Lee Jae-ah’s Dating show appearance

Reaching for his coffee cup, former South Korean professional footballer Lee Dong-gook confronted the reality of his daughter entering the public eye for romance.

A Father’s Protective Stance

Producers for the joint tvN STORY and E채널 program My Child’s Dating 3 published a pre-filming interview on the 3rd confirming the lineup additions. Lee Jae-ah joins actor Lee Jong-hyuk’s son Lee Jun-su on the upcoming program. Lee Dong-gook admitted during the segment that he feels unprepared to watch his daughter navigate romance on screen. He noted that seeing her express affection toward someone outside the family setting would feel unfamiliar.

Weighing Immediate Rescue Plans

The former footballer voiced concern that Lee Jae-ah might face emotional hurt during the shared camp. He stated readiness to pick her up immediately if she sheds tears over a relationship. When Lee Jae-ah joked that her father would likely wait outside with binoculars, Lee Dong-gook countered by asking if he could accompany the participants in a managerial capacity. Twin sister Lee Jae-si, who joined the interview, also expressed worry that Lee Jae-ah might prioritize others and overlook her own feelings in an unfamiliar environment.

Setting Sights on Long-Term Commitment

Lee Jae-ah rejected the notion that the camp is merely a casual outing, telling her father she intends to approach the experience seriously. She expressed a desire to find a compatible partner and pursue a long-term relationship, drawing a parallel to her parents who married after a long relationship that began when they were 20. Pointing out that both her parents’ initial meeting and her own camp entry take place in August, she voiced optimism about the possibility of long-term commitment.

Lee Dong-Gook Reveals Suitors Preference Ahead of Premiere

While Lee Dong-gook maintained a composed exterior when discussing the possibility of his daughter holding hands with a male participant, he immediately reached for his coffee cup. Lee Dong-gook stated a preference for tall, athletic suitors, while Lee Jae-ah countered that she is capable of protecting her partner. My Child’s Dating 3 is scheduled to premiere on November 11 at 8 p.m.
