Feyenoord Misses Jeremiah St. Juste for Champions League Clash Against Inter Milan

Jeremiah is zeker voor de interlandbreak niet terug, aldus Feyenoord-trainer Giovanni van Bronckhorst regarding the central defender’s absence due to a shin injury.

Feyenoord will face Internazionale in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening without central defender Jeremiah St. Juste, who sustained a shin injury during the weekend fixture against PSV, nos.nl reported. The injury rules the defender out for the upcoming European fixture at De Kuip and through the international break, leaving manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst without a key starter as his squad navigates a three-match winless run in domestic and continental play. Het is afwachten hoe lang hij precies is uitgeschakeld, added Van Bronckhorst, stating that losing an important regular starter is a blow for the player, his teammates, and the coaching staff, though noting how strongly the defender returned last summer. Het is in ieder geval nieuws waar ik niet blij van werd, he concluded.

Squad Adjustments at Training Complex 1908

With Nacho Ferri securing the central striker role, Van Bronckhorst must weigh whether to introduce Van Persie from the bench as the Rotterdam club searches for a spark. Regarding Van Persie, it remained to be seen whether he could be part of the matchday squad to potentially make his first minutes from the bench, having been sidelined since mid-September when he sustained an injury during the match against PEC Zwolle.

Tactical Demands Against European Finalists

Feyenoord enters the fixture sitting on three points after three Champions League matches, secured via a home victory against Como that preceded a 1-0 defeat to Real Betis. The Eredivisie leaders have drawn their last two domestic outings 1-1 against PSV and Fortuna Sittard, prompting youthful defender Givairo Read to emphasize a growing sense of hunger within the changing room. Van Bronckhorst echoed a similar sentiment regarding the team’s confidence, noting that one can also view their run as having lost only once and remaining undefeated in the league. Zulke ruimtes straft Inter af, the manager warned, adding that the Italian side possesses a lot of experience and knows precisely how to play at this level.
