KV Diksmuide Oostende: Ex-CFO Claude Vindevogel faces €250,000 fine for social media posts

Claude Vindevogel, the former financial director of KV Diksmuide Oostende, faces a financial penalty of up to 250,000 euros if he violates new restrictions imposed by a court regarding statements about the football club.

Court Order Imposes Strict Limits on Former Financial Director

The legal action centers on a series of Facebook posts published by Vindevogel detailing internal problems at KV Diksmuide Oostende, known as KVDO. The club, club president Frederik Willaert, and Karl Vannieuwkerke jointly initiated legal proceedings against the former executive, arguing his public commentary crossed boundaries.

Under the judge’s ruling, Vindevogel must delete two specific social media posts published on October 20 and October 27. Furthermore, the court prohibited him from making further public statements alleging criminal offenses or irregularities without proof, and barred the release of confidential club paperwork.

Dispute Over Allegations and Counterclaims

The injunction marks the latest escalation in a bitter feud between KVDO leadership and its former financial director. While the court has moved to silence public disclosures of confidential club documents, the underlying conflict remains unresolved.

Vindevogel denies separate allegations concerning inappropriate conduct involving minors. In response to the friction with club management, the former financial director filed his own legal complaint against four individuals, alleging harassment, slander, and defamation.

Upcoming Hearing Scheduled for November 16

The legal scrutiny surrounding KV Diksmuide Oostende returns to court on November 16. The upcoming session will address necessary measures to stabilize the club’s future, with legal options expected to include the potential appointment of a bewindvoerder to oversee operations.
