Dong’aocun Community Resolves Enterprise and Resident Issues Through Party Building

Lunchtime Badminton Comes to Beijing’s Chaoyang District

An office worker at the Aonan No. 5 Commercial Building known as Ms. Wang and her colleagues wanted to use their lunch hours for badminton matches, but struggled to find nearby courts. Relief arrived when the Dongao Village community in Beijing’s Chaoyang District stepped in, Beijing Daily reported.

The neighborhood relies on two primary party-building brand initiatives—the “Yi Qi Gas Station” and the “Hui Min Warm Heart Workshop”—to connect enterprise workers in the commercial zone with local residents.

Negotiating Athletic Access Through Community Co-Builders

Earlier this year, staff from the Dongao Village commercial zone’s party committee visited the office building, documented the request, and contacted Yiyou Yundong, a community co-builder. The committee negotiated resources and facilitated a signed activity venue agreement between the building and Yiyou Yundong, securing local athletic access for employees.

Tackling Over One Hundred Enterprise and Employee Issues

Beyond sports access, the community has coordinated health and security initiatives across commercial hubs and residential blocks.

Additional neighborhood interventions included replacing trees at the Zhaoshangju Plaza and installing enterprise logos for the Lixin Certified Public Accountants firm. These efforts contributed to more than 110 resolved enterprise and employee issues.

Infrastructure Upgrades Across Older Residential Compounds

Residential areas within the Dongao Village community received upgrades through coordinated resource allocation among local units. Solar-powered lighting fixtures, parking barriers, and parking poles were installed in older residential compounds.

Age-friendly resting chairs were also installed on each floor of apartment corridors for elderly residents. “L”-shaped and “I”-shaped safety grab bars alongside foldable bath chairs were fitted inside homes for residents with mobility limitations, and public leisure benches and mosquito-killing lamps were set up in the Beitou Keyuan and Dongao Village neighborhoods.
