CIP Molise Launches Paralympic Sports Project in Regional Schools

Students in Molise are stepping onto indoor courts and fields to try out badminton, table football, and archery as part of a regional initiative launched on November 3. The project, titled “Scuole: dall’Aula al Mondo Paralimpico,” brings qualified sports technicians to introduce students to paralympic disciplines and social inclusion through direct athletic practice.

Collaborating Institutions Across Seven Molise Schools

The Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) Molise promotes the initiative in close cooperation with the Molise Region and local school administrators. The active roster includes the Trivento Omnicomprensivo State Institute “N. Scarano,” the Campobasso Comprehensive Institute “D’Ovidio,” the Casacalenda Omnicomprensivo Institute “Silvio Di Lalla,” the Termoli Higher Secondary Education Institute “Ettore Majorana,” the Campobasso Scientific High School “A. Romita,” the San Martino in Pensilis Comprehensive Institute “John Dewey,” and the Vinchiaturo Comprehensive Institute “Matese.”

Sport Disciplines Offered on the Field

Students from primary schools through lower and upper secondary levels participate in practical demonstrations spanning several sports. The curriculum features badminton, five-a-side football, table football, archery, bowls, and track and field athletics. The hands-on approach allows pupils to experience the rules and equipment of each discipline firsthand under the supervision of specialized instructors.

Bringing Paralympic Culture into Regional Schools

Donatella Perrella, President of CIP Molise, stated that the initiative aims to root Paralympic culture directly within the regional community by starting inside schools. Perrella emphasized that sport serves as an extraordinary educational and integration tool capable of dismantling social and cultural barriers. Observing the enthusiasm of young students as they approach disciplines like archery, athletics, and table football demonstrates the vital importance of building networks with the Regional School Office, principals, and teachers. The core objective remains spreading the message that every difference represents a resource and that sport is genuinely accessible to everyone.
