Charlie Woods Commits To Florida State University Golf Program

Charlie Woods officially committed to the Florida State University men’s golf program on Nov. 6, 2026, during a signing ceremony held at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The 17-year-old golfer, who had verbally committed to the Seminoles in February, put pen to paper to finalize his collegiate future, marking the next phase of a career that has increasingly garnered independent attention.

His parents, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, were both in attendance to celebrate the milestone. The former couple, whose marriage ended in a 2010 divorce, appeared together in a rare family photograph alongside their son and coaches at the school. Nordegren’s longtime partner, former NFL tight end Jordan Cameron, also attended the event with their children.

A Growing Junior Resume

Charlie Woods’ commitment to Florida State follows a strong season on the junior circuit. Earlier in the week leading up to the signing, he helped The Benjamin School capture the Florida regional championship at Miami Shores Country Club, shooting a 1-under 70 to tie teammate Brooks Colton. The younger Woods is currently the 133rd-ranked player in the American Junior Golf Association’s Rolex Rankings. His high school career has included two Florida state team championships, with the school winning titles in both 2023 and 2025.

TaylorMade NIL deal for Charlie Woods

In addition to his high school success, Charlie won the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025. In September 2026, he signed a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with TaylorMade, the golf equipment brand that has sponsored his father since 2017 and launched the elder Woods’ "Sun Day Red" brand in 2024. Charlie is set to join the Seminoles’ roster in 2027. Florida State’s men’s golf program has been a consistent force in the NCAA, appearing in the tournament in five of the last six seasons, including a runner-up finish in 2024.

Family Reunions

While public appearances by Tiger Woods and Nordegren are infrequent, the two have reunited on several occasions to support their children’s accomplishments. In February 2026, they gathered to celebrate The Benjamin School’s Florida Class 1A state championship victory. They were also seen together in December 2024 at the PNC Championship, where Tiger competed alongside Charlie, and their daughter, Sam, served as his caddie.

Reckless driving charge for Tiger Woods

Following the signing ceremony, Tiger Woods expressed his support for his son’s future. Congratulations Charlie. I’m so proud of you on entering this next chapter of your life, the 15-time major champion wrote.

For Tiger Woods, the event marked a return to the public eye following a period of limited appearances. Earlier in 2026, Woods pleaded no contest to a charge of willful and wanton reckless driving following a March car crash. The court proceedings concluded with a $1,000 fine for reckless driving, a $500 fine for refusing a urine test, and a five-year suspension of his driver’s license. Since the incident, Woods has focused on select appearances, including the Travelers Championship, the TGR Foundation’s amateur charity event in September, and the TGR Junior Invitational in October.

As Charlie prepares for his transition to Tallahassee, the status of his father’s return to professional golf competition remains uncertain; Woods has not played in a tournament since the 2024 Open Championship.
