Host club TSV Abensberg secured two gold medals at the Bavarian U15 judo championships in the Josef-Stanglmeier-Halle, where local competitors faced top regional talent across multiple weight classes.
Karolina Marszeniuk and Adrian Kruse Claim Gold in Abensberg
Karolina Marszeniuk in the under-52-kilogram division and Adrian Kruse in the under-55-kilogram category captured the championship titles on their home mats. Both fighters lived up to pre-tournament expectations by winning their respective final bouts, according to Peter Dremow from the coaching staff of the Babonen. Marszeniuk secured her gold medal by defeating Lea Elezi of SC Armin München in the final. Kruse claimed his title after overcoming Jakob Raith from 1. SC Gröbenzell in the gold-medal match.
Younger Competitors Gain Valuable Championship Experience
The host club also fielded several younger athletes who gained crucial tournament exposure against older and more experienced regional competitors. Kyra Brunswig and Magdalena Amann both competed in the under-40-kilogram division, while Alexander Helmle stepped on the mat in the under-34-kilogram category and Gustav Warnick competed in the under-55-kilogram weight class. While all four athletes gave their best performances during the competition, they did not reach the podium or finish in the medal ranks this year, Dremow stated.
Upcoming Qualification for the South German Championships
Following their victories at the Bavarian championships, both Marszeniuk and Kruse have advanced to the next level of competition. The two champions will travel to Heubach in two weeks to compete at the South German championships, where they will face the top qualifiers from neighboring federal states.
