Michea Godano secured three podium finishes at the World 3D Archery Championships in Yankton, South Dakota, concluding a heavy stretch of international competition for the Italian national team. Competing across all available compound divisions—individual, team, and mixed team—the archer from Fossano helped anchor the Italian squad during the international events hosted in the United States through late September and early October.
Italian Squad Captures Bronze in Team Compound
The first of Godano’s three medals in Yankton came in the men’s team compound event. Alongside teammates Kevin Gheda, Enzo Lazzaroni, and Giuseppe Seimandi, Godano claimed the bronze medal by defeating Denmark with a score of 136-101.
The Italian men’s quartet advanced to the third-place match after overcoming Spain 153-144 in the quarterfinals. Their run toward the top of the podium met a hurdle in the semifinals, where France edged them out 159-147 before the Italian team rebounded in the bronze playoff.
Mixed Team Podium Finish Alongside Irene Franchini
Godano collected his second bronze medal in the mixed team compound competition, partnering with Irene Franchini.

The Italian pair faced France in the semifinal round, falling 167-127. They quickly regrouped for the bronze medal match against Finland, securing the third step of the podium with a 160-149 victory.
All-Italian Playoff Settles Individual Bronze
The third medal arrived in the individual compound competition through a head-to-head match against teammate Jesse Sut.
Godano opened his individual elimination path by defeating Great Britain’s Ball 122-119 and Russia’s Zubalevich 125-114. He then dropped a narrow decision to Austria’s Wiener 83-82, moving him into the bronze-medal final against Sut.
After a tied first end at 18-18, Godano pulled ahead with a 15-8 score in the second. He maintained his advantage through the remaining targets, winning the final two ends 22-21 and 20-16 to take the match 75-63.
Closing Out the American Expedition
The back-to-back world championships held in Yankton—starting with the World Field Archery Championships in the final week of September and followed by the 3D specialty events—netted the wider Italian delegation more than 20 total medals.
Godano contributed five medals overall across both tournaments, reinforcing his standing within international compound archery.
