Tissot Supersport NBA: The New Monochrome Chronograph Inspired by Basketball Culture

Swiss watchmaker Tissot expanded its basketball-inspired product lines with the release of the Tissot Supersport NBA, featuring a 42mm case size and design elements drawn directly from professional basketball culture and arena technology. The new timepiece builds on a partnership that began in 2015 when Tissot became the official timekeeper for the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League.

Monochrome Gray Watch Mimics Basketball Court Markings

The Tissot Supersport NBA runs on a Swiss-made quartz chronograph G10 movement housed within a sandblasted stainless steel case. Tissot finished the dial, bezel, pushers, and rubber strap in a uniform monochrome gray color scheme designed to offer a matte texture for everyday wear.

Designers incorporated specific on-court references across the watch face. The dial includes white lines intended to mimic basketball court markings, while the date window takes its shape from the key area underneath the basket. The central chronograph seconds hand features the official NBA logo. A 24-second marker layout frames the bezel as a direct nod to the shot clock rule in professional basketball.

The solid case back features specialized engravings dedicated to the Eastern Conference and Western Conference. The watch also includes a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an antireflective coating and is water-resistant up to 10 bar, equivalent to 100 meters.

Expansion of the Supersport Chrono Line

Previously, Tissot offered its Supersport Chrono collection exclusively in a 45mm case diameter. The introduction of the 42mm variant provides a more compact option while retaining the mechanical chronograph layout and sharp case geometry of the larger models. The collection features four distinct configurations with pricing in Japan ranging from 75,900 yen to 83,600 yen tax included, depending on the strap and dial combination.

Tissot Supplies NBA Timing Systems and International Partnerships

Beyond retail timepieces, Tissot supplies the official timing and shot-clock systems used across NBA arenas. The current generation of shot clocks features a circular display design equipped with integrated glass for coach’s challenges and full RGB LED light strips to assist officials and arena spectators.

The brand’s presence extends internationally through partnerships with high-profile events outside North America. Tissot serves as the presenting partner for the NBA Paris Games, a co-partner for NBA China Games, and a supporter of the BUDX NBA House in India.

Roster of International Brand Ambassadors

Tissot maintains a roster of basketball ambassadors to promote its sports-themed collections. The group includes retired NBA star Tony Parker, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, international players Moritz Wagner and Franz Wagner, and guards who compete on the global stage. In Japan, the brand appointed Yuki Kawamura as a domestic ambassador.
