Tissot Launches New NBA Chronograph in Sandblasted Steel

Swiss watchmaker Tissot has expanded its official merchandise lineup with a new NBA-themed chronograph featuring a sandblasted steel finish, according to details released by Europa Press. Built around a 42-millimeter stainless steel case with a matte texture, the timepiece retails at a recommended price of 495 euros and pairs technical sports fashion with the aesthetics of professional basketball.

Swiss Quartz Movement Features Basketball Court Design Elements

The new chronograph runs on a Swiss-made G10 quartz movement. Its exterior features an antireflective sapphire crystal protecting a matte gray dial, complemented by an interchangeable gray rubber strap equipped with a quick-release system. The bezel integrates a direct reference to the shot clock with specific 24-second markings.

White indicators across the dial mimic court markings, while the date window takes structural inspiration from the area directly underneath the basketball hoop. The central seconds hand prominently features the NBA logo, and the solid case back carries a specialized engraving honoring both the Eastern and Western Conferences. To ensure legibility in low-light conditions, the hands and index markers are treated with Super-LumiNova.

Tissot Maintains Headquarters in Switzerland and Sports Partnerships

Tissot operates out of Le Locle, Switzerland, where the company has maintained its headquarters since its founding in 1813. Beyond its designation as the official timekeeper for the National Basketball Association, the brand holds timekeeping contracts across several other international sports properties, including the MotoGP World Championship and the Tour de France.
