Maresa Mößler secured a third-place finish at the South German U15 Judo Championships in Heubach, battling through five matches and a total mat time of 149 seconds before her club, SV Mühlhausen, claimed multiple medals the following day in Schwandorf, Neumarktaktuell reported.
Journey Through the Heubach Bracket
The South German championships opened on Oct. 17, 2025, in Heubach, featuring 108 female competitors from the 2012 to 2014 age groups across 59 clubs. Each participant had placed among the top five in their respective regional associations. Mößler entered the tournament as the Bavarian runner-up in the under-15 category.
In her opening match against Lina Ben Said of Judo-Club Bad Krozingen-Hausen, Mößler finished the contest in just seven seconds. She then faced Isabella Greco of TSG Reutlingen, who would later finish as the tournament’s runner-up. Mößler attacked aggressively, walked into a throw, and failed to escape the ensuing hold-down, sending her into the repechage bracket.
Recovery came quickly in the repechage. Mößler defeated Lisa Wyhlidal of Judoschule Roman Baur in 10 seconds before eliminating Marie-Louise Ahrens of Budo-Club Offenburg with an ippon in 44 seconds.
Securing the Bronze Medal Against Miltach
The bronze-medal match brought a familiar pairing as Mößler met Alexa Bauer of 1. FC Miltach for the fourth time. Bauer, visibly frustrated by another meeting with the SV Mühlhausen judoka, submitted to the pressure after 41 seconds. The victory cemented Mößler’s third-place finish on the podium in Württemberg.
To ensure peak physical condition ahead of the championship, the Mößler family bypassed Friday training in Bavaria to travel to Heubach a day early, a tactical choice that paid dividends over the course of the grueling tournament weekend.
Medals Follow in Schwandorf
Competition shifted on Oct. 18, 2025, to the district ranking tournament in Schwandorf. SV Mühlhausen entered eight of its 20 eligible athletes, contesting nine total bouts across multiple age divisions.
Twins Maresa and Simon Mößler both captured gold medals in the U15 division. Leo Bratfisch added a gold in the U11 class alongside a silver medal in the U13 division. Toni Kayser took silver in the U15 category.
Ben Bratfisch finished fourth in the U15 division while still visibly recovering from prior issues. Theo Kayser also placed fourth in the U11 class after misjudging the ground-fighting format. Paul Engelhardt and Timo Kayser rounded out the SV Mühlhausen contingent with hard-fought matches in the U11 division that highlighted the club’s intensive focus on ne-waza training.
Upcoming Turnhalle Lauterhofen Schedule
SV Mühlhausen turns its attention to the upcoming Gummibärenrandori scheduled for Nov. 8, 2026, at the Turnhalle Lauterhofen, where participating athletes and clubs will receive formal recognition.
