Ho Chi Minh City Senior Badminton Open Awards Over 400 Million VND in Prizes
Athletes from 31 clubs competed for more than 400 million VND in total prize money at the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City Open Senior and Age Group Badminton Tournament, which concluded its final matches on the afternoon of October 4. The tournament brought together 375 players across nine age categories and 22 competitive events at the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Sports Arena in Tam Thang Ward.

The event drew participation from 31 distinct organizations and sports clubs, accommodating a diverse field that included numerous foreign players currently living and working in the city. Contestants were divided into nine separate age groups to contest 22 individual competition categories.
Robot Club Dominates While International Pair Claims Division Title
Robot Club delivered the strongest overall performance of the tournament, capturing 13 titles out of the 22 contested events. In the 66–70 men’s doubles age category, foreign players Lim Mooi Hock and Wong Kwong Hang, representing the Westlake Brunei Club, secured the division victory by defeating Nguyen Thanh Chuong and Pham Quang Dich of Robot Club during the final round on October 4.
Organizers Distribute Significant Cash Awards and Equipment
The tournament pool exceeded 400 million VND in total prize value. Every event winner received a cash prize of 2 million VND alongside two high-end badminton racquets. Municipal sports officials noted that the competition serves as a vital gathering for adult and senior athletes aiming to refine their competitive skills and foster intergenerational exchange.

With a history spanning more than 30 editions, the Ho Chi Minh City senior badminton tournament has established itself as a cornerstone for local racquet sports enthusiasts.
