As part of the Inclusion Month celebrations, the Directorate for Persons with Disabilities and the Formosa Judo Federation hosted a special judo exhibition for children with disabilities at the Community Center in the La Nueva Formosa neighborhood, according to reports.
Inclusion Month Judo Exhibition Highlights Motor and Cognitive Growth
The Tuesday and Thursday training sessions led by instructor Oscar Alderete provided the foundation for the community showcase. Anahí Romero, coordinator of the La Nueva Formosa Community Center, told the Formosa News Agency (AGENFOR) that the facility joined the broader inclusion initiatives to demonstrate how adaptive sports function in practice.
According to Romero, the primary goal of the exhibition was to show the community the specific exercises children perform, explain the fundamentals of the discipline, and share the personal experiences of the young athletes participating across various local gyms.
Therapeutic and Developmental Benefits of Adaptive Judo
Alderete emphasized that judo engages both motor and affective domains while actively supporting cognitive skill development.

Following the exhibition, Alderete thanked the Ministry of Community and the Secretariat of Sports for supporting programs that carry significant meaning for the instructors and the children who train regularly.
