The 2026 China Tennis Tour CTA500 Xiamen event concluded in October 2026, marking the fourth year the national-level tournament has landed in the coastal city, China Sports Daily reported. The tournament featured intensified competition across five divisions, drawing participants from Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Tianjin to Xiamen.

Fan Wenbo Claims Men’s Singles Crown After Tough Battle

The men’s singles final delivered a closely contested match between Fan Wenbo and Yang Jingqi. Both players traded strong shots from opposite sides of the net before Fan broke away to secure the championship. Following the victory, Fan noted that he was competing in Xiamen for the second time and praised the city’s food and environment, stating he hopes the tournament returns annually so players can combine competition with a vacation.

Zhang Chuyu Exceeds Expectations in Women’s Singles

Zhang Chuyu captured the women’s singles title after navigating a competitive draw. Entering the tournament with a modest personal goal of reaching just the final four, Zhang advanced past her initial expectations to claim the top spot on the podium.

Established Partnerships and Family Duos Dominate Doubles Divisions

Veteran pairing Hou Kaiwen and Xu Shuai claimed the men’s doubles title, relying on their familiarity and past success in the China Tennis Tour circuit to maintain steady form. In the women’s doubles bracket, Tang Haochen and Xi Zixuan secured the championship. Xi, who was making her fourth appearance in Xiamen, remarked that returning to the city feels like coming home while offering a chance to connect with friends.

The mixed doubles event featured a family pairing as college freshman Luo Jiayu and his younger sister Luo Wanyi teamed up for the first time. Luo Jiayu explained that he recruited his sister, a ninth-grade student, after failing to find a men’s doubles partner, resulting in an unexpected championship run.

Four Years of Growth and City Integration

Since its inception in Xiamen in 2023, the CTA500 tournament has evolved from a newly introduced fixture into a major regional sporting property. The collaboration between the city and the tour has shifted from merely hosting an external event to jointly building a dedicated tournament intellectual property, according to China Sports Daily. The integration of amateur athletes into the elite tier of the competition has aligned with Xiamen’s athletic infrastructure, which includes 187 primary and secondary school sports facilities currently open to the public, featuring dedicated tennis courts that support rising local participation.
