Ezkurdi KT drops cash entry fees for home matches

Ezkurdi Drops Cash Entry Fees for All Home Matches

The Ezkurdi football club has abolished traditional cash entry fees for its federated teams, replacing gate charges with a voluntary one-euro raffle ticket model across its home grounds.

Under the updated policy, spectators gain admission to matches at both the Arripausueta and Tabira grounds by purchasing at least one raffle ticket. The purchase doubles as a direct financial contribution to the club, shifting the economic model of matchday attendance.

Expanding Public Access to Popular Football

Club officials outlined the core motivation behind the structural change in an official release, emphasizing the social role of the stands in community sports.

«We want more and more people to come close to the pitch, cheer for our teams, and feel that Ezkurdi is something of their own,» club representatives stated. «We believe that the stands are a fundamental part of the life of any club, and the price should not be an impediment to enjoying popular football.»

Conditions and Reciprocity for Visiting Clubs

Despite the broader push for open access, Ezkurdi KT has established a strict reciprocity clause regarding opposing teams.

The club maintains the right to enforce standard gate fees for home fixtures against visiting clubs that require Ezkurdi supporters to pay for admission when traveling to their facilities.

Voluntary Contributions and Regional Hopes

For all other fixtures, organizers stress that attendees may purchase additional raffle tickets beyond the mandatory one-euro minimum to further support club operations.

Officials hope the pivot will serve as a model for regional sports administration, encouraging peer organizations to lower financial barriers and draw larger crowds to lower-tier grounds.
