Eries Toshima FC claimed their first-ever All Japan Senior Football Championship title on October 28, defeating fellow Tokyo side Nankatsu SC 2–1 in the final at the Ichigo Miyazaki Shintomi Football Stadium. The victory marks the first time a team from Tokyo has won the national amateur tournament since FC KOREA lifted the trophy in 2012.
Eries Take Lead with Two Goals
Nankatsu controlled the early phases of the match, pressing forward while Eries absorbed the pressure and gradually shifted the tempo. The breakthrough arrived in the 39th minute when Nankatsu defender Omori misjudged a clearance inside his own half. Eries capitalized on the turnover, with Matsumoto whipping a cross from the left flank that Oki met at the far post for a direct finish.
Eries maintained their aggressive posture after the interval and doubled their lead in the 54th minute. After working the ball into the right side of the penalty area, Suminaga gathered a loose ball and delivered a through pass to midfielder Yuda Mori, who drove a clean right-footed shot past the goalkeeper.
Kanda Saves Victory for Eries
Nankatsu responded with tactical substitutions and pulled a goal back in the 65th minute. A corner kick from Ota found Okada, who drove a powerful right-footed effort into the net to narrow the deficit to 2–1.
Nankatsu launched waves of attack in search of an equalizer, but Eries goalkeeper Kanda turned away several high-danger chances to secure the result. The victory crowns a 56-year history for the amateur club, handing manager Kodera his second tournament title after winning the previous edition with Veroskronos Tsuno.
Eries and Nankatsu Qualify for Regional Champions League
As finalists, both Eries Toshima and Nankatsu SC secured qualification for the Regional Champions League, the entry gateway to the Japan Football League (JFL). A third available tournament spot passed to Tohoku League runners-up Blancdieu Hirosaki via a rotation replenishment system.
The draw for the first round of the Regional Champions League takes place on Saturday, October 31.
FC Basara Hyogo Wins Third-Place Match
In the third-place match preceding the final, FC Basara Hyogo edged Gakunan F. Mosperio 1–0. Hyogo, who finished as tournament runners-up last year, secured the win in the 74th minute when Yutaro Oya converted a penalty kick he earned himself.
