Eleven-year-old archer Emma Bicego claimed the gold medal in the Sub-13 barebow category at the 2026 Youth Cup in Villa María, Argentina, finishing with a total of 648 points across two qualifying rounds, Radiocanal reported.
Competing from October 10 to 12, Bicego represented the Archery Club of the Civil Association of the Piedmontese Family of San Francisco. Her performance at the tournament venue in Córdoba featured a first-round score of 325 points followed by 323 points in the second round, according to coverage from Radio Estación.
Performance Goals Met Across Categories
Beyond capturing first place in her immediate division at the 20-meter distance, Bicego cleared three separate performance benchmarks established by the Argentine Archery Federation (FATARCO) under its Young Promises Program. El Tiempo Diario noted that the young competitor surpassed the 520-point threshold required for a category advancement, the 560-point mark for the Master Young Promises recognition, and the 600-point standard for the Excellence distinction.
While previous training cycles had already seen her reach marks within the Sub-15 tier, this weekend marked her first official competition at the 20-meter distance under the program. The resulting 648 total points officially grant her a promotion to the 30-meter distance and clear the path for her to enter the Raso Sub-15 division within the official World Archery circuit.

National Selection Evaluation and Training
The tournament schedule extended beyond individual classification rounds. On Monday, October 12, Bicego joined fellow youth archers and their respective coaches for a dedicated workshop and evaluation session led by the coaching staff of the National Archery Selection. Radio Estación reported that the technical team observed the athletes’ mechanics and provided direct feedback to support their athletic development.
Club organizers in San Francisco emphasized that community training sessions for the sport continue weekly at their headquarters on Saturdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM local time. The institutional backing accompanies Bicego as she prepares to transition into longer distances and higher competitive age brackets following her performance in Villa María.
