Emma Bicego Wins Gold at the 2026 Youth Archery Cup in Villa María

Archery competitor Emma Bicego captured the gold medal in the Sub-13 barebow division at the 2026 Youth Archery Cup, finishing with a score of 648 points across two rounds of qualification in Villa María, Córdoba. Representing the Archery Club of the Piemontese Family Civil Association of San Francisco, the 11-year-old athlete outperformed her previous benchmarks and earned a direct promotion to the 30-meter distance during the tournament held from October 10 to October 12, DiarioSports reported.

Competing in the FATARCO Youth Prospects Program

The tournament served as a vital competitive stop within the national calendar organized by the Villa María Archery School. Bicego competed under the FATARCO Youth Prospects Program in the Sub-13 barebow category at 20 meters. Across her two qualification rounds, she posted scores of 325 and 323 points respectively, securing a combined total of 648 points that propelled her to the top of the podium.

She cleared the 520-point threshold for category promotion, the 560-point mark for the Youth Prospects Master recognition, and the 600-point standard required to achieve the Youth Prospects Excellence distinction.

Advancing to Sub-15 Competition at Age Eleven

The decisive victory in Córdoba alters Bicego’s competitive pathway moving forward. Having previously reached program benchmarks in the Sub-15 category, her debut performance at 20 meters not only met every target but also earned her a transition to 30 meters. DiarioSports noted that this progression grants her the opportunity to enter and compete in the official World Archery Raso Sub-15 division at just 11 years old.

The achievement highlights a pattern of steady athletic growth managed alongside her coaching staff.

Working Alongside the National Selection Coaching Staff

Beyond the medals and numerical targets, the event provided a direct line to national team evaluators. On Monday, October 12, Bicego joined fellow competitors and their respective coaches for a dedicated training session led by the coaching staff of the National Selection, as reported by DiarioSports. The program featured specialized workshops and formal evaluations designed to monitor youth development, facilitate direct feedback with personal trainers, and establish technical guidelines for future training blocks.
