Emma Bicego Wins Archery Gold with 648 Points at Youth Cup

Eleven-year-old archer Emma Bicego claimed the gold medal in the under-13 barebow division at the 2026 Youth Archery Cup in Villa María, Córdoba, posting a combined score of 648 points across two rounds, it was reported.

Scoring breakdown at the 20-meter distance

Representing the Archery Club of the Familia Piemontesa Civil Association of San Francisco, Bicego competed in the 20-meter barebow category under the Argentine Archery Federation’s Young Promises Program. During the tournament, held from October 10 to 12, she tallied 325 points in her opening round followed by 323 points in the second. The competition was organized by the Villa María Archery School as a stop on the national calendar.

Surpassing Young Promises Program benchmarks

Beyond securing the top spot on the podium, Bicego cleared three specific performance thresholds established for her division and distance. She surpassed the 520-point mark required for a category advancement, the 560 points designated for the Young Promises Master recognition, and the 600 points necessary for the Young Promises Excellence distinction. Having previously reached targets in the under-15 division, her latest performance in her debut outing at 20 meters positions her to begin competing in the official World Archery under-15 barebow category.

Working alongside the national coaching staff

El lunes 12 de octubre, Bicego participó junto a otros arqueros y sus entrenadores de una jornada de trabajo con el cuerpo técnico de la Selección Nacional. The schedule featured a workshop, athlete evaluations, and technical guidance aimed at supporting the development of the youth participants. During the gathering, national coaches reviewed Bicego’s competitive results and the ongoing training program directed by her club instructors in San Francisco.
