Spectators can watch the 3×3 basketball and speed climbing German championships at the Neumarkt square directly in front of the Frauenkirche. Meanwhile, canoe sprint and stand-up paddling competitions are scheduled to take place within the historic Zwingergraben moat.

Dresden Hosts National Multisport Championships in 2025

Hagen Boßdorf, managing director of Finals GmbH, emphasized the collaborative effort required to stage the multi-venue competition in eastern Germany.

“Our goal is to further develop the multisport event together with the state of Saxony, the sports associations, and ARD and ZDF,” Boßdorf said. “I am convinced that we will succeed in doing this in Dresden and that we will set new standards once again. Proximity and beauty are the new benchmark.”

The 2025 event marks the first time Dresden will host the national multisport championships, moving the multi-federation showcase to Saxony for late summer.
