Centro Judo Novara secures four national final spots

Centro Judo Novara secured four qualifications for the upcoming national finals following competition at the Pala Maggiore in Leinì on Sunday, October 18, finishing second in the women’s team standings and fourth overall.

Pala Maggiore Qualification Results

Four athletes earned their passes to national competition during Sunday’s bouts in Leinì: Simon Vestali, Gabriele Martinone, Maya Anchisi, and Mattia Di Giorgio. The qualifiers advanced to reach the upcoming Italian championship brackets.

Among the day’s performances, Maya Anchisi claimed the gold medal in the Cadette 70 kg category. As the youngest competitor in her weight class, Anchisi secured her third national final appearance across three distinct age divisions, following her qualification for the Cadetti A2 finals in March in Leinì and the Juniores A2 finals in May in Bari.

Additional podium finishes in Leinì included Gabriele Martinone taking silver in the 90 kg division and Marco Vestali capturing bronze in the 73 kg category. In other weight classes, Manuel Moneta placed fifth at 90 kg, while Mattia Moneta and Gloria Morelli both finished seventh in the 57 kg division.

Upcoming National Finals Schedule

The Campionati Italiani Assoluti A2 finals are scheduled in Ostia for November 7 and 8. The Esordienti B national finals follow on November 21 and 22.

Head instructor Flavio Vestali noted that the qualification results validate the club’s training regimen, complementing additional ranking-based passes secured earlier in the season. According to club data, Centro Judo Novara remains the sole reality in the province to qualify competitors across both men’s and women’s divisions in multiple age brackets this year.

Club director Walter Ferrari pointed to the steady growth of the organization since its establishment roughly twelve years ago, moving from local tournaments to regional titles, national finals and international medals. The four qualified judokas will travel to Ostia to compete against the best Italian athletes in their respective categories.
