Canary Islands Badminton Talent Gathers for Fourth “Se Busca Campeón” Camp in Lanzarote

The Canary Islands Badminton Federation brought together 15 young athletes at the Pabellón IES Playa Honda in San Bartolomé for the fourth training camp of its talent-identification program, “Se Busca Campeón,” radiomarcalanzarote.com reported.

Training Camp Coordinates with Arrecife Tournament

The weekend training sessions coincided with the Máster N5 Arrecife tournament, which was organized by the Auria Bádminton Club. This scheduling allowed the invited players to combine competitive matches with specialized technical instruction directed by the federation’s technical staff.

As part of the weekend’s extracurricular activities, the young players attended a Saturday evening lecture given by Olympic champion Carolina Marín at Jameos del Agua.

Under-11 and Under-13 Roster Breakdown

The federation selected players across two age groups for the Lanzarote camp. The under-11 roster featured Ahinoa García from Tiguaneje, Julieta López from CD Pajaritos, Pedro Alonso from Universitario, Valentina Isabel Pérez and Sharlotte Sanahuja from Los Hinojeros Granadilla, and Isaac Rincón from Auria Bádminton Club.

The under-13 group included Manuel Cabrera, Vera García, Álvaro Guadalupe, David Rodríguez, and Aitami Fernández from Auria Bádminton Club, alongside Ciara García from Tenzul El Rosario, Francisco José González from CD Pajaritos, Gretta Hernández from CB Ohada Flick, and Nerea Infantes from Badfor El Sauzal.

Progressive Development Goals for Regional Prospects

The technical directorate designed the camp to maintain a consistent and progressive training philosophy that respects the developmental timelines of each athlete. Coaches gradually increased technical, tactical, and physical demands across the sessions to prepare the participants for upcoming regional competitions and potential selection to represent the Canary Islands.
