Arcieri del Picocco Hosts 9th National Archery Championship in Olevano Romano

More than 100 athletes from across Italy gathered in Olevano Romano on October 18, 2026, for the 9th National Club Team Championship in hunting archery, Caccia Passione reported. Organized by ASD Arcieri del Picocco, the single-day competition featured 19 teams competing across traditional and technological bow divisions on a rugged, technical course.

Olevano Romano Course Tests Field Competitors

The layout in the hills of the Rome province challenged the field with demanding terrain and tricky target placements. While several competitors struggled with the topography, the event drew top-tier talent from every corner of the country, turning the Italian championship into a showcase of tactical shot selection and equipment management.

Organizers split the tournament into two distinct equipment categories: traditional bows and technological bows. Despite the occasional mishit or rueful glance after a missed mark on the course, the final standings reflected the true hierarchy of Italian club archery.

Traditional and Technological Division Champions Crowned

Municipal authorities attended the afternoon medal ceremonies to hand out the national titles. In the traditional bow category, the Scuola di tiro tradizionale H. Hill from Palestrina captured the 2026 Italian championship. The winning trio of Quattrocchi, Bianchi, and Rocchi fended off a strong challenge from second-place finishers Arcatores de Mevania out of Bevagna, represented by Sacchetti, Mazzaferri, and Guglielmi. The bronze medals went to Arcieri delle Tre Vette from Cagli, featuring Amantini, Mattei, and Arbusti.

In the technological bow division, Arcieri di Jano claimed the top step of the podium. The Rignano Flaminio squad of Giorgi, Pompili, and Ronchetti secured the gold. Silver went to Arcieri della Tavola Rotonda from Terranova Bracciolini, fielding Pellegrini, Pagliai, and Tofanari. Arcieri delle Tre Vette picked up a second medal for their club, taking bronze with the team of Orazi, Bacchetta, and Pizzingrilli.

Umbria Prepares to Host Indoor Championships

With the outdoor club event concluded, the Italian archery calendar shifts north to Umbria. Participants and federation officials turned their attention to the upcoming national Indoor Championships scheduled for December in Trevi. The A.S.D. Arcieri del Bosco Sacro di Spoleto will manage the hosting duties for the winter gathering, following praise from participants for the logistical work delivered by ASD Arcieri del Picocco in Olevano Romano.
