Archers s’affrontent au concours nature du Cap d’Agde

Ninety-seven archers converged on the natural course around Mount Saint-Martin in Cap d’Agde on Sunday, October 11, for the area’s inaugural autumn nature archery tournament, according to local reports. Competitors traveled from across the department and beyond to take part in the seasonal event, which unfolded under clear skies and ideal outdoor conditions.

Archers Agathois Lead the Podiums on Home Terrain

The host clubs, Archers Agathois and Archers Viassois, organized the Sunday gathering, with local competitors securing multiple podium finishes across various weapon and age categories. Christel Puig captured first place in the Senior 3 barebow division, while young Louane Peyre claimed top honors in the U15 freestyle category for Archers Agathois.

Additional podium results for the home club included Bruno Benit taking second place in the Senior 3 traditional bow class. Élodie Peyre finished second in the Senior 2 freestyle division, and Laurent Zdyb earned second place in the men’s category. Séverine Fernandez rounded out the podium placements for Archers Agathois by taking third place in the Senior 2 barebow event.

Broad Participation Across Regional Clubs

Beyond the medal winners, several other members of the host club turned out for the Sunday competition. Thierry Bourrie, Jean-Louis Fauré, François Pujo, and Éric Bénard all competed in the Mount Saint-Martin tournament, representing Archers Agathois throughout the day’s rounds.

Organizers from both the Agathois and Viassois clubs expressed satisfaction with how the event unfolded under favorable weather. They credited the success of the gathering to the network of volunteers who handled course preparation and logistical support for the nearly one hundred visiting and local athletes.
