Altwarmbüchen BC Badminton Teams Start Season With Strong Wins

While the club's top squad had a mixed start in the Landesliga, the second team established an early foothold at the top of the Bezirksklasse standings.

First Team Secures Landesliga Split Against Gifhorn and Braunschweig

Playing in the Landesliga, the Altwarmbüchener BC first team opened its season with a narrow 3–5 defeat against BV Gifhorn 2. Pia Konow and Anja Kook put the club on the board by winning the women’s doubles, while Konow followed up with a straight victory in the women’s singles. Michel Könecke added the third point for Altwarmbüchen by taking the third men’s singles match.

The squad rebounded in its second fixture of the day, defeating SG Comet/FC 56 Braunschweig 1 by a 6–2 margin. Rico Ottermann and Michel Könecke paired up to claim the opening men’s doubles, and Könecke secured his second individual win of the day in the third men’s singles. Additional victories across the women’s doubles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles sealed the team’s first victory of the autumn schedule.

„We are not yet exactly where we want to be, but we brought the two points home today. That was our minimum goal,“ Bjarne Dierks assessed following the afternoon matches.”

Second Team Claims Early Third Place in Bezirksklasse Hannover Nord

In the Bezirksklasse Hannover Nord, the Altwarmbüchener BC second team cemented its status as an early contender following promotion. The squad opened its campaign with an 8–0 sweep against SG Eilsen/Bückeburg/Pyrmont before traveling to face SG Syke/Okel/Gessel-Leerßen/Twistringen 2.

The visiting Altwarmbüchen players secured a 7–1 victory in their second outing, sweeping both men’s doubles encounters alongside the women’s doubles. Individual wins from Saee Jadhav, Niklas Stricks, Tobias Krolow, and Justus Jonathan Gellert carried the team through the singles matches, with only the mixed doubles point surrendering to the hosts. The results leave the newly promoted side sitting third in the early league table.
