Alessio Oltremari Leads High-Level Judo Master Class in Matera

The Judo Master Class in Matera brought two days of high-level training to the region, drawing athletes, amateurs, and professionals to the tatami under the direction of international instructor Master Alessio Oltremari, sassilive.it reported.

Two Days of Technical Training in Matera

Organized by the Dojo JJK Team Martino in collaboration with the CSEN Basilicata Judo Sector, the weekend intensive focused on advanced technical skills and precise movement on the mat. The gathering served a broad spectrum of practitioners from across Puglia and Basilicata, uniting club-level competitors and seasoned professionals for shared instruction.

Master Martino emphasized that the curriculum deliberately bridges different levels of experience rather than isolating elite competitors. By focusing on granular technical adjustments, the camp aimed to give attendees tools that extend well past immediate tournament outcomes.

“We have been bringing important names in international judo to Matera for several years now,” Master Martino stated, as reported by sassilive.it. “Our training is transversal, embracing amateurs and professionals without forgetting competitors. If we all do the same thing in the same way, comparison eventually becomes mortifying. Working on details—an approach not within everyone’s reach—can represent the true turning point to making better judo, well beyond the simple competitive result.”

Southern Italian Clubs Join Oltremari Seminar

The turnout reflected strong cross-regional collaboration among southern Italian clubs. Practitioners traveled from multiple provinces to participate in the multi-day seminar alongside Oltremari.

Master Martino expressed appreciation for the turnout and acknowledged visiting instructors who brought delegations to the venue. The roster of participating leaders included Masters Pasquale and Davide Izzi from Cerignola, Giulio Valente from Bisceglie, Domenico Farina from Salerno, and Master Persano from Muro Leccese.

“I am truly satisfied: many young people from Puglia and Basilicata decided to put themselves to the test in these two days,” Master Martino said, according to sassilive.it. He extended specific thanks to the visiting coaches for sharing the training path, alongside a deep expression of gratitude to Oltremari for bringing his extensive experience to the host dojo.
