Pallacanestro Roseto opened its Serie B Nazionale Old Wild West campaign with a commanding 98–83 victory over Cestistica San Severo at the home court in Puglia. Head coach Gramenzi steered his squad through a high-scoring opener on Sunday, taking control of the contest from the second quarter onward to secure the club’s first win of the season.
Offensive Fireworks and Lithuanian Sharp-Shooting
Lukas Aukstikalnis led the charge for the visitors with a game-high 22 points, featuring six shots from beyond the arc. Roseto finished the night with 98 total points, 51 rebounds, and 20 assists, hitting a team efficiency evaluation mark of 122.
Five other Roseto players reached double figures alongside Aukstikalnis. Chiti contributed 13 points with three three-pointers, while Fabiani, Pellizzari, and Tandia each added 11 points. Tandia also pulled down 12 rebounds under the glass. Gaiola rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.
How the Match Unfolded in Puglia
The opening quarter saw both sides trade blows in a fast-paced environment. Roseto jumped out early to an 11–17 lead at the five-minute mark behind baskets from Aukstikalnis and Pellizzari. San Severo answered through Morelli and Bugatti to level the score, before a late three-pointer from Aukstikalnis tied the period at 27–27.
Roseto broke the game open in the second quarter. A strong scoring run featuring Morina, Aukstikalnis, and Gaiola pushed the visitors ahead 34–42 by the 14th minute. Pushed by strong interior work from Fabiani and Tandia, alongside further perimeter shots from Malual and Morina, Roseto carried a 49–58 lead into halftime.
Controlling the Second Half
San Severo opened the third quarter with a 7–0 run, but Roseto quickly silenced any thoughts of a comeback with a 14–4 counter-break. The visitors restored their double-digit cushion, closing the frame ahead 77–66 as San Severo struggled with missed shots.
The final ten minutes followed a similar script. Aukstikalnis opened the period with another triple, while Tandia dominated the paint alongside Fabiani, Chiti, and Petracca. San Severo ultimately conceded the match as Roseto closed out the 98–83 victory to the applause of the traveling supporters.
Team Roster Breakdowns
For the hosts, coached by Bernardi, Bugatti led the scoring effort with 15 points, followed by Sarmiento with 14 and Morelli with 13. Romondia and Pezzani each chipped in 10 points, Lucas added 9, Todisco scored 7, and Bandini finished with 5. Greco, Di Rico, and Ndour did not enter the game.
