L’Orlandina Basket has finalized its roster for the upcoming season by officially acquiring perimeter player Marco Timperi, according to club announcements. The 1997-born guard arrives following a preseason testing period that provided the coaching staff with positive evaluations regarding his physical recovery from recent knee issues experienced with Roseto.
Completing the Roster After Preseason Adjustments
The club moved to secure Timperi after losing Tommaso Rossi to injury shortly after the initial squad assembly. According to team officials, sporting director Antonio Sapone identified Timperi as the ideal candidate to round out the roster due to his physical stature, athletic profile, and tactical versatility across multiple perimeter positions.
“Dal momento in cui si è reso necessario tornare sul mercato per chiudere il roster abbiamo subito pensato a Marco Timperi, ritenendolo per caratteristiche fisiche, atletiche e tecniche il giocatore ideale,” club director Antonio Sapone stated regarding the acquisition.
Preseason Performance and Integration
Timperi logged significant minutes during the team’s fifth and penultimate preseason outing against Viola Reggio Calabria, a tightly contested match that ended in a 73-69 defeat. The game featured balanced scoring across all four quarters, with quarter scores reading 19-19, 35-36, and 49-51 before the final whistle.
During the two-week trial period preceding his official signing, Timperi demonstrated a smooth integration into the squad’s system. “Nelle due settimane in cui ha lavorato con noi prima di siglare l’accordo abbiamo avuto ulteriore conferma di quello che pensavamo, inoltre si è perfettamente integrato con il resto del gruppo, quindi siamo felici di dargli ufficialmente il benvenuto,” Sapone added.

Timperi brings prior experience across the Serie A2 and Serie B Nazionale circuits, offering defensive switching capability and offensive spacing on both sides of the ball. The guard expressed enthusiasm about joining a historically basketball-centric environment in Capo d’Orlando.
