Police Investigate Daylight Shooting and Abduction in Gavà
The violent sequence began at approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, within the Ca n’Espinós neighborhood in Gavà, a municipality in the Baix Llobregat comarca, according to police sources cited by Metrópoli Abierta and ARA. Unidentified assailants aboard a vehicle opened fire on a man riding a motorcycle through the residential streets.
Eyewitnesses reported the attack to emergency services via the 112 hotline. According to those accounts, the attackers stopped their vehicle immediately after wounding the motorcyclist, loaded the victim into the trunk, and fled the scene at high speed. When Mossos d’Esquadra patrols arrived at Ca n’Espinós, they discovered bloodstains and an abandoned motorcycle lying on the asphalt, confirming the shooting took place but leaving officers searching for the missing victim.
Victim Discovered in Sabadell During Local Festival
Investigators used the registration data from the left-behind motorcycle to trace the incident. Later that evening—coinciding with the closing night of the annual local festival in Sabadell—police located the wounded man in the Vallès Occidental municipality, roughly 30 kilometers from where the shooting occurred.
The victim was found near the Can Oriac swimming pool with a gunshot wound. Although medical evaluations confirmed the injury was serious, the bullet struck a non-vital area, meaning authorities do not fear for his life.
Ongoing Investigation by the Mossos d’Esquadra DIC
The investigation has been transferred to the Central Investigation Division (DIC) of the Southern Metropolitan Region of the Mossos d’Esquadra. As of the initial reports, police have made no arrests in connection with the shooting and subsequent abduction as detectives continue working to establish a motive and identify all participants.
