Two Indonesian Women’s Doubles Reach Hylo Open 2026 Quarters as Men’s Pairs Bow Out

Indonesian women’s doubles pairs Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, alongside Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Hylo Open 2026 badminton tournament at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrucken, Germany, VOI reported.

Straight-Game Victories Secure Quarterfinal Berths

Competing in the second round on Thursday, October 29, the fifth-seeded pair of Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi defeated England’s Sian Kelly and Lizzie Tolman in straight games, 21-15, 21-11, according to coverage from PB Djarum. Fadia noted that while their opponents held tight defensive positioning and strong front-court play from mixed doubles experience, the Indonesian duo maintained control.

“Alhamdulillah, today’s match went smoothly and resulted in a win,” Fadia said through the PP PBSI Public Relations and Media team. Tiwi added that the team adjusted to the court and shuttlecock conditions, pointing out that patience was vital against an English pair that deliberately slowed the pace.

Meanwhile, the third-seeded pairing of Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari booked an identical two-game victory, overcoming Taiwan’s Chang Ching Hui and Yang Ching Tun 21-14, 21-11. The $500,000 BWF World Tour Super 500 event runs from October 27 through November 1.

Men’s Doubles Eliminated in Saarbruecken

While the women’s sector advanced, Indonesia’s challenge in the men’s doubles draw came to a close on Thursday. Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin fell to Denmark’s William Kryger Boe and Rasmus Espersen in straight games, 14-21, 19-21. Indra and Joaquin struggled to match their opponents’ pace early before mounting a stronger resistance in the second game that ultimately fell short.

The defeat left Indonesia with no remaining contenders in the men’s doubles category, following the earlier exit of Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani. Gutama and Isfahani were eliminated in the second round by Malaysia’s Aaron Tai and Yap Roy King in a tight contest, 20-22, 19-21, as reported by VOI and PB Djarum.

Upcoming Quarterfinal Matchups

Looking ahead to Friday, October 30, Fadia and Tiwi face home favorites Stine Kuespert and Isabel Lohau of Germany. The German pair reached the quarterfinals after eliminating another Indonesian duo, Rachel Allesya Rose and Febi Setianingrum, in the opening round. Fadia emphasized that the team wants to build consistency following a quarterfinal appearance at the French Open.

“We want to keep focusing on every match,” Fadia said. “Our target this time is to bring back our performance that was somewhat lost, which has improved quite a bit since the French Open.”

On the other side of the draw, Ana and Trias prepare to face America’s Lauren Lam and Allison Quynh. Friday’s match offers the Indonesian pair an opportunity to avenge a previous defeat suffered against the American duo at the Denmark Open 2026.
