Lothar Matthäus Steps Out with Theresa Sommer at Oktoberfest
German coach and former footballer Lothar Matthäus attended the 191st edition of Munich’s Oktoberfest accompanied by 27-year-old Theresa Sommer. According to international press reports, the couple’s appearance at the festival drew widespread attention, with observers noting a clear chemistry that eclipsed their 38-year age gap.
The 65-year-old kept a high profile at the event alongside Sommer. Coverage highlights that Sommer is younger than Matthäus’s two eldest daughters, Alisa and Viola, from his first marriage.
A History of High-Profile Marriages
Matthäus’s personal life has frequently drawn media interest. He has been married five times prior to his current relationship. His first marriage began in 1981 with Silvia, with whom he shared daughters Alisa and Viola before their divorce in 1992.

Two years later, Matthäus married Swiss model Lolita Morena, the mother of another of his children. That union ended in divorce in 1999. He subsequently married Marijana Čolić in 2003, a marriage that concluded after six years.
In 2008, Matthäus wed Ukrainian model Kristina Liliana Chudinova in Las Vegas, though that relationship also ended in separation. His fifth marriage took place in 2014 to Anastasia Klimko, with whom he shares a son. That marriage concluded after seven years.
Stance on Future Marriages
Despite his extensive marital history, Matthäus has indicated he has no plans to walk down the aisle a sixth time. When questioned about whether Sommer might eventually become his sixth wife, he made his position clear in an interview earlier this year with the German publication Bunte.
“I have absolutely no intention of marrying again,” Matthäus said.
For now, the couple continues to make public appearances together, maintaining significant attention across European media as the Oktoberfest celebrations unfold in Munich.
