The mayor of Linares, Auxi del Olmo, and sports councillor Martín de la Torre hosted an official municipal reception at the Palacio Municipal for the members of the Club Deportivo Cástulo de Tiro con Arco following their performance at the Andalusian Archery Championship held locally, where the club secured two regional titles and a finalist finish.
The institutional gathering brought together the two newly crowned Andalusian champions: Rafael Passas, who claimed the gold medal in the Recurve Men’s category, and Juan Navarrete, who climbed to the top of the regional podium in the Compound Bow division. Joining them at the town hall was archer Vanesa López, who earned a fourth-place finish in the Mixed Compound series during the regional tournament hosted on home soil.
Municipal Recognition and Regional Success
During the official visit, Mayor Del Olmo formally congratulated the Linares archers for their championship titles and the competitive standard they displayed against the top competitors from across the autonomous community. The municipal leaders extended their best wishes to the athletes for the upcoming challenges on the federation calendars.
Del Olmo and De la Torre utilized the meeting to engage in discussions with the competitors, reviewing the scheduling of upcoming official commitments and the initiatives that Club Deportivo Cástulo plans to roll out to further develop and promote archery participation throughout Linares.
