Regional leadership also underscored the vitality of the sport in northern Italy. Lombardy Regional Sports and Youth Undersecretary Federica Picchi noted that the regional archery movement remains among the most active in the country. Official figures indicate that Lombardy hosts 81 clubs and more than 5,100 members affiliated with the Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO), accounting for approximately 20 percent of the national total.
Recurve Individual Finals and Standout Performances
In the women’s recurve individual final, Roberta Di Francesco competing for Fiamme Azzurre defeated Chiara Rebagliati of Fiamme Oro with a score of 7-3. Reporting from Giornalelora indicates that the victory marks Di Francesco’s second absolute national title, following a shared title won in 2024 alongside Loredana Spera. The win arrives just ahead of Di Francesco’s debut appearance in the World Cup Final in Saltillo, Mexico. The men’s recurve final saw Matteo Borsani of Fiamme Gialle claim his first career absolute national title by defeating national teammate Francesco Gregori (Marina Militare) 7-1. Gregori entered the championship following a silver-medal performance at the Mediterranean Games. For the bronze medal, Mauro Nespoli (Aeronautica Militare) defeated Massimiliano Mandia (Fiamme Azzurre) 6-0. In the women’s team competition, Arcieri del Roccolo—comprising Bonetti, Cesarini, and Di Francesco—claimed the gold medal by defeating Arcieri delle Alpi (Botto, Di Vita, and Mijno) 5-4 via a 24-23 shoot-off. The women’s team bronze was awarded to Arcieri Iuvenilia (Andreoli, Degani, and Rolando) after a 5-3 victory over Arcieri Voghera.
