“Estoy en la final, así que, nada, lógicamente me veo con chances de ganar el torneo, ya me queda un partido, nada más,” Barrena said after the match. He noted that winning previous tournaments in Argentina boosts his confidence as he prepares for the final.

“El quiebre fue desde lo mental, el partido había arrancado muy distinto a cómo lo había planeado y había mucho viento,” Mena explained. After dropping the opening moments, the Temperley native found his rhythm and coasted through the second set.
Mena brings considerable experience to Sunday’s fixture, holding five titles in the category, including a recent triumph in Porto, Portugal. Playing a home tournament in front of local supporters carries deep significance for the veteran competitor at this stage of his career.
